Career Goals-
My career goals in the field of Instructional Design consist of both short and long terms goals both in a educational environment and out. Upon completion of my Master's degree program, I aim to apply my instructional design skills at the Lab School of Washington in development of the technology program. Recently, the Lab School has committed to bringing technology into instruction and I aim to to apply my knowledge in its implementation by faculty and staff.
Short Term:
To utilize my instructional design skills in my current workplace through engagement with the educational technology staff to enact initiatives beneficial to professional development and learning of faculty/staff and students. I seek to initially work alongside faculty and staff during professional development days to assist in development of their knowledge of the school's learning management system so as to better support students.
Long Term:
To pursue career opportunites in instructional design work outside of the field of education and practice instructional design particular to mobile platforms. With a tremendous expansion in use, mobile devices will become even more important to learners in the future and require designers to create engaging and instructional applications.
Academic Goals-
It is my goal to continue to be inquisitive regarding findings in the field of instructional design regarding the development of instruction by mobile technology. This will be done through continued engagement of members in the field of IDT established during my time at George Mason.
